People, cafes, vendors, street merchants, buskers, historic buildings, art installations and much more. The power of observation underpins the art of great street photography. Learning to "see" interesting detail is a practised skill and we introduce you to easy methods that will open your photographer's eye and expose you to a world that is alive with detail. The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you.

We will also go over settings, focusing techniques and lens choices common to street photography to help us capture those random chance encounters.

Introduction to Black and White Photography. What makes a good Black and White shot?

We will look at the contrast and using textures. How does the camera see the image and how do we create Black and White images in a camera or in post-production. We will look for some good examples and set some exercises.

This is a more advanced course and assumes you understand the basics of photography and controlling your camera.

Teaching watercolor landscapes to my 5th grade students, I, also, do one with the classes. Along the way, I will show certain techniques or explain specific problems with the painting as it was being created. This is my interpretation of a photo taken by Tommy White that was printed in the Our State magazine.

The A-frame LoungeThe object of this painting is the A-frame Lounge the subject is a dreamlike state focusing on atmosphere and mood. I aimed to create a warm yet solemn tone, reflecting a memory from my youth over 31 years ago. Back then, I worked at Allen Lewis Manufacturing in North Denver with a friend who was an airbrush artist. On weekends, we?d head to the Mile High Flea Market, where he airbrushed t-shirts, and I handled the money. As the day wound down, we?d celebrate with Budweiser,

I love painting landscapes because the process is more than just creating art. It?s a way to immerse myself in another world. After painting a portion, I place it in front of me and spend hours staring at it while eating, relaxing, working, or even before going to bed. I get so lost in the scene that the boundary between reality and fantasy fades away. For me, this practice becomes an escape from the hustle and bustle of life, offering a peaceful retreat into the beauty of imagination and nature
